Astrology of 2023 & Full Moon Update
Hi friends,
Happy New Year! Boy was 2022 a long year…so much happened in that year, a lot of growth and challenges. Astrologically speaking, 2023 is a very different year. And tonight we have the first full Moon of 2023!
I love that the first full Moon of the year always falls in the sign of Cancer. The Moon is very happy in it’s native sign, and this particular full Moon doesn’t really have a lot of harsh aspects to it, in fact it is mostly well aspected.
The one thing to watch out for is that Mercury is retrograde and is opposite to the Moon, which means that our emotional intelligence as well as our ability to communicate our emotional needs are diminished under this full Moon.
There is also an easy aspect between Uranus and the Moon which boosts our intuitive capabilities. But, Uranus is lightning flashes of intuition, the kind that hits us out of nowhere and we don’t really know how to make sense of. I would wait till the Mercurial fog clears up to take action on any intuitive messages, just because a retrograde Mercury means there is more to be revealed.
In the bigger picture of 2023, astrologically the intensity we experienced in the last three years is finally dissolving as this year brings much more harmony between the planetary bodies.
The key astrological happenings are Saturn moving out of Aquarius and into Pisces, ending a tense aspect between the lord of karma (Saturn) and the creator of chaos (Uranus).
As Uranus in Taurus is much more comfortable with Saturn in Pisces, we are likely to see less upheaval and more cooperation collectively speaking.
Also adding a boost to this is my favorite planetary alignment of the year — Jupiter in Taurus. Jupiter will move into Venus ruled Taurus in Spring of 2023, and this benevolent planet will be making positive aspects to both Saturn and Uranus, which means that three of the outer planets will be in harmony with each other, symbolizing solidarity in the collective consciousness.
Although before Jupiter shines its rays through Taurus, it will make its last round in Aries and form a conjunction with Chiron, the archetype of the wounded healer. Which means that in order for us to fully receive the benevolent influence of Jupiter, we have to be ready and open to be vulnerable about our wounds that need healing — both individually and collectively.
The other big planetary events are Pluto moving into Aquarius for the first time since 1798, the lunar nodes moving into the Aries-Libra axis , and the eclipses which will happen in the axis of Aries-Libra and Taurus-Scorpio.
While 2023 is surely going to present us with many growth opportunities, from an astrological point of view, this year is predicted to break through the intensity of the cycles that we started back in 2020, giving us the opportunity to collectively create an atmosphere of harmony and universal brother and sisterhood.
Remembering that the stars incline, they don’t compel…what will you create this year? Choose wisely.
